Agung is the founder and the Managing Partner of Darmawan & Partners. He specializes in corporate M&A, banking and finance, start-ups investment as well as any other general corporate practices. He is well-known for his legitimate strength, expertise in law and strategy in equipping clients to make a thorough and well-thought decision in a speedy manner.
Prior to establishing Darmawan & Partners in 2019, Agung was a Senior Associate at several prominent international law firms in Indonesia, where he led various corporate M&A, banking and finance, start-ups investment as well as any other complex transactions. Further, he had also been assigned as an in-house counsel on a secondment basis to the compliance department of an international bank, and currently he is also appointed as an expert legal advisor in one of the government institutions in Indonesia.
Darmawan & Partners was founded in early 2019 by Agung Darmawan, a qualified legal consultant with more than 10 years’ experience and involvement in extensive range of legal services, including corporate M&A, banking & finance as well start-ups investment. Since its establishment, our firm has actively taken important roles on various complex commercial transactions, among others, structuring security sharing arrangement for 4 loan transactions from local and international banks, with security value of more than USD 200 million, advising product development for various financial technology companies, arranging a complex acquisition deal for a subsidiary of a US-listed company to acquire an Indonesian financial institution through its holding companies, representing various venture capitals and other institutional investors in leading, and participating in the various types of investments to Indonesian technology start-up companies. Additionally, we have also advised the digitalization process of one of the largest publicly listed commercial banks in Indonesia as well as the acquisition of several rural banks by Indonesian conglomerate-group companies for the purpose of transforming the rural banks to become digital banks.
